Analysis:

  • There is not a single change to the side that lost to the Broncos in Week 1.
  • Sam Kasiano, Greg Eastwood and Krisnan Inu are all still recovering from injury. None are believed to be potential late inclusions the the squad, although the Monday night kickoff does give them that extra day or two to recover.
  • Tim Lafai, however, has been named in the NSW Cup (reserve grade) team, indicating his injury status has sufficiently improved to see him return to the field.
  • Winger Mitch Brown, although named, could be a late withdrawal due to the concussion he sustained in Week 1. His situation will be one to monitor. Potential replacements include lower grade options such as Wingers John Sila and Kayne Brennan or Fullback Tyrone Phillips. Depending on the teams confidence in Lafai’s recovery from injury, he could also see a quicker than anticipated return to the NRL side, which would likely push Chase Stanley to the opposite wing, assuming his versatility permits such a positional change.
  • The dynamics of the extended bench should remain the same, with Moses Mbye being the odd man out.
